I am a contemporary Magic Realist artist whose paintings and drawings have been featured in numerous solo and curated group exhibitions in museums around the world including such places as the Tretyakov Museum, Moscow and the Corcoran Museum of Art in Washington, D.C. In 1999 my work was included in the exhibit "Magic Realism: America's Response to Surrealism" at the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art, Loretto, PA one of the few historical surveys of the Magic Realism painting movement ever mounted at a museum. Most recently, my 10 foot long narrative painting, Cicada, traveled to five museums around the state of Pennsylvania as part of the exhibit, Artists of the Commonwealth: Realism in Pennsylvania Painting 1950-2000 and is now on permanent display at the James A. Michener Art Museum. My work can be found in many public and private collections in the USA and have been featured in numerous books, newspapers, magazines, on public radio and television, and online at www.robevansart.com and at www.robevansart.net (a new site currently in progress).
