I live in Portland, Oregon with my family and books. I write magic realism, realistic magic, and much of the literature of the fantastic which roams between the two. My favorite works are those which are love letters from the writer to the language. I am up for both a Hugo and a Campbell award this year, and my first collection Greetings From Lake Wu has received wide critical acclaim.
